He worked on the story for DUMBO, PETER PAN, CINDERELLA, ALICE IN WONDERLAND and SLEEPING BEAUTY. He was the first Disney writer to do a feature film story all by himself, 101 DALMATIANS. He then went on to do SWORD IN THE STONE and, eventually, THE JUNGLE BOOK. He and Disney had "issues" over changing the story and Peet walked out of the studio very upset and never returned. He told Disney to remove his name from the film even though over 90% of the story was his own writing. He also drew what the animals should look like in the film.
