My ancient memory was cheating on me a bit there. Still a lot of fun. I also remember when "Splinter in the Mind's Eye" was the sequel to Empire we all really wanted.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08940265224974931649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4364805792882783170.post-29049334835157635902014-06-02T21:04:58.000-04:002014-06-02T21:04:58.000-04:00I feel like I've seen Empire a lot more than a...I feel like I've seen Empire a lot more than any of the other movies in the classic trilogy because of a vinyl record I had growing up. It was essentially the audio from the film with little or no narration to tell the entire story. This has led to my having random lines memorized that aren't necessarily the most memorable. For example, "Lando's not a system, he's a man!" (Ryan may recall this from going to see the special edition with me when it was released many many moons ago).

In case you were wondering about it: http://www.discogs.com/George-Lucas-The-Empire-Strikes-Back-The-Adventures-Of-Luke-Skywalker/release/1112616

I actually found an .mp3 of the record a few years ago.

As for Empire, it's easily my favorite of all the Star Wars movies and one of my top five greatest movies of all time. The only thing that bugs me about it is how long does the story take place over. I get the impression that Luke spends a couple of weeks on Degobah going through training...but it feels like the pursuit of the Falcon only takes a few days. Of course, it could be a few weeks given the fault in the hyperdrive....

Anyway...that's me being a nitpicker.

I will also recommend this fan recorded commentary for the film as a nice supplement to your podcast. http://mmmcommentaries.com/commentary/mmm-commentary-star-wars-marathon-the-empire-strikes-back/
Michael Hickersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08283539524957605129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4364805792882783170.post-28096187914584707392014-05-26T23:50:29.923-04:002014-05-26T23:50:29.923-04:00At the time it was made no.
