I assume they were copied from a partly damaged or decomposed original, and the title was simply spliced on to whatever "good" portion was left. Are there any fully complete prints out there?jeffm12012https://www.blogger.com/profile/17430827566250598471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4364805792882783170.post-39627045688643772552009-07-25T05:50:49.231-04:002009-07-25T05:50:49.231-04:00This a nice little promotional film, mostly reuese...This a nice little promotional film, mostly reuesed animation, but with a few original bits to bridge it together (featuring that delightfully weird and toothy early Mickey design). For more on Minnie's Yoohoo, I recommend the following Cartoon Brew article. Be sure to read the comments, with info on another (lost) promotional Mickey short that I'd never heard of before.

http://www.cartoonbrew.com/disney/earliest-disney-records.html

As we've been following the Disney cartoons. I've also been watching a sampling of cartoons from other studios to see what other trends in animation I can find. 1930 is an interesting year with staff and even characters (I'm looking at you, Oswald) who previously worked with Disney now at other studios. For the most part, Disney's hugely popular sound cartoons and main character of Mickey are leading the way, clearly influencing the other studios. The Fleischer studio, however, stands out with a flavour of cartoons all their own. They produced a lot of classic cartoon in 1930 including "Swing You Sinners", "Dizzy Dishes" and "Mysterious Mose" to name, but a few.

But I digress! Roll on the 1931 Disney cartoons...Machttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17701967442508380462noreply@blogger.com
