Disney Film Project Podcast - Episode 114 - The Hunchback of Notre Dame II

This week the DFPP team returns to Paris to help their friend Quasimodo find true love only to discover a world much like the Paris they knew only everyone and everything seems not quite right in the 2002 animated adventure The Hunchback of Notre Dame II.

  1. I wouldn't say Filmation's stiff "Master of the Univers" shows have better animation than this, unless the fact that the characters are always on-model.

I did see this, but I don't remember much of it. Although, it sounds like the director might have been legally blind like Paul J. Smith(not the Disney Composser, another one) at Walter Lantz during the final years of the studio (1966-72) when Smith was the only director there and the cartoons (Woody Woodpecker, Beary Family, Chilly Willy) had almost exactly the same problems.

I also think you should stop having Charel pick the films to review as here choices are questionable.

  2. I was listening to Hunchback of Notre Dame podcast and remember how excited you guys were to review the sequel. If only you knew...lol. Yeah Disney sequels are painful to watch. Since the animation is not up to par....Although Peter Pan 2 and Jungle Book 2 were theatrical sequels...and I enjoyed them. I think the biggest problem with this film is that Judge Forlo was killed and you have a lesser exciting villain. Something out of The 1960's Batman TV show. But a sequel for a Underated Disney Masterpiece, no sorry this sequel sounds painful.
