Wasn't expecting so much dislike of Cars 2 here. I really enjoyed the movie and I have seen it twice. They could have made the movie more emotional by playing the Brad Paisley "Nobody's Fool" song in Mater's dream sequence. I would have teared up. I am still able to empathize with Mater though. Most people have at one point or another been made to feel like a worthless idiot by someone.ReplyDelete
I don't disagree that there was death in the movie. It was a little much to torture and kill Rod. However, it is partly a spy movie so that isn't unrealistic. The motivation of the villians was very clear in this movie. Oil, money, and power. Maybe a little too simple, but clear. What was Lotso's motivation in Toy Story 3 to let all the toys be burned alive? Toys that had just saved his life even. There was no reason besides him just being a bitter, spiteful bear. How is that any better? That said, TS3 is a better movie overall. But I think I will end up watching Cars 2 more often because it's more fun.
